A Blessing and a Curse: The Curse

A Blessing and a Curse: The Curse

A Poem by Nialligimino

Inspiration all around,
but barely time to think.
Inspiration all around
as my sanity begins to shrink.

Creative thoughts abound -
my inspirational albatross.
My focus run aground
causing sleep to be lost.

Timekeeping cast asunder.
Chronos walked the plank.
Lost in cranial thunder
emptying the tank.

I consider my mind a gift
and will give credit to genetics,
but in my mind a rift
between sanity and frenetics.

Sleep is a welcome refuge
respite in a friendly port,
but I cannot stop the deluge
I've had another thought!

What I see and think and feel
races round at speed.
Returning to even keel
calm waters is what I need.

Inspiration all around
on imagination drunk.
My albatross won't be un-found
My sanity is sunk.

can relate to this totally - being a chronic insomniac with thoughts constantly interrupting my sleep, often have questioned my sanity. You express yourself well.

I'll tell you now that you cannot curb my enthusiasm for the written word; so if you judge based on a pitiful blurb I'll consider your opinion completely absurd. My efforts go into the section ".. more..
