The Hound

The Hound

A Poem by Nicholas

Deep down, shakes my ground,
That awful, spoken, easy sound
That on my sanity did pound
Across the air that flowed around
Our heads, and with fire drowned
My hope of us being renowned
For being two, with love inbound
At our hearts, until we found
A peaceful life, without the hound
Of him clawing us, confound
That shadow who said he’d crown
You as a queen, but not surround
You with the love I have in mounds
But rather tear your soul, impound
That awful, spoken, easy sound,
Into your soul, into my ground.
