Not Enough to Drink

Not Enough to Drink

A Poem by Nick Granger

All the architects of virgin temples are dead

Spartans have killed them for the sake of envy

Though Hestia's fire burns in this body's focal place

These bricks are plastic

And this table cloth beneath my hand and elbow binds no gone Pharoah

     or priest of Ra

This stream of milky full and speaking breasts

And their boyfriend

In my ears

Although my native tongue

Is foreign Babel

I try to listen as an old friend would

No!
