Losing the Love (from a woman's point of view)

Losing the Love (from a woman's point of view)

A Poem by Nico

Leave now
I want to be alone
With the melancholy
To fly in its sky
I never asked who you were
Why you chose me
Me who until yesterday
Believed you were a king

Losing the love, when the night falls
And a little bit of silver colours your hair
You risk going crazy, your heart could make you explode
Losing a woman and wanting to do nothing but die *

Let me scream
Renounce heaven
Take a stone to all the dreams that are still in flight
I will make them fall one by one
I will break the wings of destiny
And I will have you near me

However, I understand you
And I admit that I screwed up
I made your choices
Who knows what I was claiming
And now all that remains
Of all our time together
Is a woman all alone
Who's still in love with you

Losing the love, when the night falls
And upon your face there's a wrinkle that wasn't there before
You try to reason, make yourself indifferent
Until you realize that you were of no use to anything

And you want to howl, suffocate the sky
Hit your head a thousand times against the wall
Breathe deeply the scent of her pillow **
Say, "It's all destiny's fault
If I don't have you near me"

Losing the love, damned night
That picks up the pieces of an imaginary life
You think that tomorrow is a new day
But you repeat "I wasn't waiting for it"
I wasn't waiting for it

Taking a stone to all the dreams that are still in flight
I will make them fall one by one
I will break the wings of destiny
And I will have you near me
Losing the love
