Under the Layers

This is a poem that is actually quite sad, but I think the feeling it shows is well known to nearly everyone...

Tear the pictures, oh my love,

just know that you will cut my future.

Twist the memories, every one,

just know that you will break my heart.

Turn away my darling, yes,

just know that I won´t follow you.

 

Laugh while I am bleeding, honey,

just know that you have cut me up.

Make me believe the lies you tell,

just know that I would swear they´re true.

Whisper, angel, while I´m there,

just know I will not try to listen.

 

I believe you, oh my heart, my soul, best part of me,

just know that under all the layers, I am crying while I speak

This was one of my first attempts at "classical" poetry, so please don´t be too hard on me. And the oldish sounding language was intended, by the way.
