Can't Let It Go

Can't Let It Go

A Poem by Nicole Renee
"

Inspired by Goo Goo Doll's Can't Let It Go.

"

Coming towards the end, we can make it to the cliff

And turn around to say good bye.
Nothing can stop us from flying away into the night, Even though

The bars on my cage are caving in on my soul and my heart.

Letting the wind lift me upwards towards the sky, I know that
E
verything will be alright when I leave this old life behind me and I
T
oss it to the side like another awful memory.
Now

I
nto the stars and flying over the moon, I'm
T
aking this advantage to the level it can go to,

Not looking down towards the smallness of my eagle eyed view.

G
oing even higher than possible, I see that

my dreams are about to come truer than

A wishing well or a lucky penny, crying
O
ver and over again until I see my favorite star

and rest my head against it until I fall asleep.

This is fantastic. You paint such a vivid story with lines such as : "The bars on my cage are caving in on my soul and my heart" I love all the imagery and hidden meanings within. A most enjoyable poem!
