I never thought to see past my own reality

I’ve kept this truth to myself

for my own vanity

 

I stepped away from all worthy paths

To keep an open road to youth

 

I pushed away all normalcy

To keep myself close to you

I scraped away all that wasn’t needed

Simple and true
