Happiness One Day

Written during a depressing time of my teenage years (1/22/2015).

I too often think about happiness,

Such as can you live your life without it?

What is the benefit of the feeling?

Can it change your outlook when the joy is lit?

So many questions asked for just one emotion.

As I search for my "soul mate,"

I patch up my broken heart

With love I cannot create.

I feel so isolated and lonely.

Tough times, sorrow, and fleeing

Causes me to drop on my knees and pray.

I call out to God as I hear the angels singing.

He calms the flood of tears and extends his hands.

He puts his arms around me to say it will be okay.

I raise up and stand as to walk off,

for I know I will feel happiness one day.

This poem was written two years ago as I underwent a devastating relationship, which left me broken. P.S. I am no English scholar, definitely not then.
