Learning to fly

I got bored a while ago and decided to type what ever came to mind and here it is

 

 

It was so hard to understand

What I’ve been through

Of what I had to do to get here

 

People mistreat me because

They don’t understand

What I’ve been through

 

They don’t understand

What I’ve seen

 

Hate

Anger

Over something that they don’t understand

Pain

Suffering

Over what has happened in the past

 

 

It was too much to bear

The pain was unbearable

I wanted it to end

I wanted to feel nothing

 

 

Than I realize something

There is always light following behind the darkness

All I had to do was wait for it to come and get me

 

But I was tired of waiting

Tired of waiting for someone to come and help me

 

That is when I learned the biggest lesson

 

Love people, yes

But when the time comes

The number one person is you

 

They won’t always be there to protect you

To help you

So you have to learn how to stand up on your own

To defend yourself

 

 

As long as you put your mind to it

You can do anything
You can become anything you wish

All you have to do is put your mind to it

Learn how to stand on your own feet

Than Stretched out your wings

And fly

Towards the heavens

Away from the darkness

That once held you captive

 

 

Learn to fly

Learn to sore

Above the heavens

Towards your light

Towards your freedom

Nice poem!! You're right, sometimes people judge you without knowing what you went through. Good job!!
But, in place of "sore" put "soar".
