Changing Auras

Changing Auras

A Poem by Nikolean

Ebony-Black eyes,
with her crimson cape of hair,
flapping in the wind.

Her smile so radiant, so warm
that would keep you wanting,
wanting to stare at it
for hours,
hours,
hours at a time.

Her positive aura surrounded those around her,
those who were with her.
She changed people.
Changed them for the better.

That is Quinne.

At least,
who she used to be.

Now she is Q. Not Quinne, Not Que,
Just Q.

Her empty ebony eyes,
full of empty sorrow,
terrible grief,
will turn any onlooker away.
Her cropped scarlet hair,
the scarlet colour of blood,
draws you in,
draws you in so much you find,
you are also wearing her halo of grief.

Her smile, no matter how rare,
is nowhere close,
to that genuine naive look
she used to always wear.

And everyone asks themselves one question,
why has she turned out this way?

But the answer is simple,
ye watchers,
ye onlookers that do nothing.
The reason is
YOU.
