Insanity

Insanity

A Poem by Tammy

Who is at fault?

No one but you

Pointing the finger but not looking within

Not stopping to think

Because all you do is drink

You sit there sticking that fork in a light socket

Though you know there will be a shock each time

It continues on and on, agonizing to watch

More so to accept-

For many have tried to intervene

The repetitive action pains me more than you know

Or comprehend at this point

I want to love and care

Because you are still there

I simply cannot-

Cannot watch as you kill yourself

Slowly you deteriorate and your mind turns to mush

Alone, sad, and angry

But you keep on persisting

Keep on sticking that fork in the light socket

The choice is yours-

It is you who will stand in the ruins of the wake

From the destruction you choose to make.
