Here i stand

this is where i stand
the wind screams its protest
the droplets pound their fury
across the sky, a flash of anger
and a deep rumble of pain
this is where i stand

here i stand
emotions threatening to overwhelm
storms of confusion
attack after merciless
attack

He moves quietly beside me
i feel His touch
close my eyes
and let go
fall

He catches me

Here He holds me
He is familiar
i realise that He has never left
His quiet voice calms my waves
of pain

He lifts me slowly
Shining, He lights up the darkness
Carries me
my burden
Everything

i surrender
how can i not
This is my Saviour
above all
The storm fades
