Shoes

Shoes

A Poem by Noah Ducane

Two shoes that sat defiant
Kicking off the dust and mud
Came kings of porridge amongst them
Grand bearers of vagrant feet

To tread where angels trod
A thousand miles more
Over sheer cliffs and valleys
Down where the pleasant smile shines

Exposed their brilliance
Like swords cast aside
To be boats upon the world
And march like soldiers
Saints over land and sea
