Keep Your Pencil Sharpened

Keep Your Pencil Sharpened

A Poem by Ntandoyenkosi Ngcobo

Keep your pencil sharpened,
A friend of mine did say.
So I keep on writing,
My friends outside at play.
Writing on the paper,
Pencil in my hand.
Writing dreams and thoughts,
The leads in high demand.
Scribbling on this paper,
Ideas to me come so quick.
Ideas I have to cater,
As this is not a trick.
I guess I can be a poet,
In case you hadn't figured.
For I will surely show it,
Writing a little quicker .
Yes my pencil is my weapon ,
My paper is my map.
But what to write down next,
I easily loose track.
