An African Mother

A very happy Mothers Day to each and every mother on this continent. <3

This is to the woman who stays late up at night ,pondering if what she is doing is right,
This is to the provider, who makes sure her children don't go to bed on an empty stomach.
The preacher, who wants you to listen to her, she speaks loud and clear.
The one whose love will aways be there whether you far or near,
The planner,
The molder,
The schemer,
The dreamer, who is last to go to bed,
The first to wake up,
Covering all that lost sleep in pretty make-up.

This is to the woman who gives life,
Nurtures it until she's no more alive,
This is to the woman who has given us,
The law,
The soldiers, to protect us from war.
The doctor,
The judge, who we all believe knows what's right and wrong.
The nurse,
The thief, who she prays for and hopes will change his ways and beliefs.

Yes, she has given birth to them all, even,
The presidents,
The ministers,
The whole of parliament,
All the churches.

Who risks, losing life while giving life,
Regardless of what, she makes the perfect wife.
She stays strong through,
Cultural violence,
Economic violence,
Social violence,
Political violence,
She stands up to this, and does not drown in silence.

But never the less, she remain a Mother, whose aims are good.
Yes, she is the Mother, the agent of development,
Always oppressed,
Always intimidated,
Always submissive,
Always threatened,
But Always patient for the sake of her children,
The pride is Always her children’s success.

The Mothers who join hands and,
Speak out,
Educate,
Create awareness,
Fight against domestic violence on Women,
And together they do it,
Success is theirs,
For Mothers all over.
We always call on them
To the dignity of Africans,
To develop Africa.
You know why?
They pray and have faith.
A strong hold onto God's strong hand,
They know with Him, on the right foot they will always land,
For with their praise, they make him glad.

This is to all African Mothers on this special day,
All that we are and all that we'll ever be would not be possible if you hadn’t given birth to us so we letting you know right now that we love you so dearly.

You are everything to us,
Very special to us,
You give unending love to us,
But today, on this day
We give you love, and will continue to do so everyday.
