Honesty

Honesty

A Poem by NumbNotBroken

Listen I'm not going to lie and say that I don't cry ever now and again.
Every time certain songs sing,
I remember how we began,
but I also remember the end.
I won't lie and say that I don't miss the friendship we had,
the laughter and fun times.
The reassurance we both gave to the other...
I won't lie and say that I don't miss your touch,
your voice,
how you pretended to care.
I won't lie and say that I meant everything I said when we angrily came to an end.
I wont lie and say that i didn't hate you or feel angry towards you,
but i did.
If you ever read this or never read this, if you're reading this now, know that this is the honest truth.
I'm not going to lie and say that smiles I gave or the happiness that portrayed was real, because the hurt, and mostly anger, was eating me alive inside because it was a lie.

Gutsy and raw I like it. Well written too.

Even the strongest people cry. I'm sure the experience this person in the poem learned and grew stronger. Nice work! The flow and word choice here is amazing.
