Another cup of tea

Another cup of tea

A Poem by Numidienne

Another cup of tea..
It's a long night of a kind!
I should have been sleeping,
But questions haunt my mind:
Do you think of me
Like I often do?
Do I live in your dreams?
Do you love me too?
And questions keep recurring
And never let me be
Till I realise that I'm drinking
A cold cup of tea...

Very Pablo Neruda-esque.
I like the meter you have used, willingly or otherwise.
The mood of the poem is evident from the ellipses in the first line itself and the use of question marks make the plaint of longing all the more palpable.

Look forward to reading your other write-ups.
Best, M.
