Emotions

One of my earlier pieces. I must have felt like this a million times when I was 15...

Surrounded
But devoid of company
Smiling
At the ironies brought by humanity
Alone
Afraid to get involved
But longing
To feel a little bit loved
Careful
After trying carelessness
Incomplete
Will there ever be completeness?
Lying
After trying truthfulness
Abiding
Waiting for a friend’s caress
Laughing
Even when there’s no humour
Crying
Because there’s supposed ardour
Caring
Even when there’s lack of feeling
Loving
Although love is leaving

i felt this way a lot when i was a teen too, it is beautiful that you captured just how many emotions we feel as teenagers, always all jumbled together inside, it ca be so hard to separate one emotion from the next!

Wow, I think I have felt this way a time or two myself, especially in my teen years...your emotions jump right off the page and grab a reader in...very nicely done :)
