Never.

Never.

A Poem by Sarah Marie
"

A rather short poem I wrote a few days ago. I think it shows what most people go through relationships; disspointment.

"

I could still taste the pain.

It's fowl aroma lingered close sweeping me away into a trance.

I watched him closely as he burried his his nose into a sea of papers.

He read them with such intensity,

The fire burning in his eyes,

the thoughts he tried so hard to hide I easily figured out.

I caught his eyes as they interlocked with mine.

The flames burned and the stung

but i couldn't look away.

Those eyes. Those blue eyes.

I could feel the sadness of the sweetest kind in them.

He knew as did I.

It was written in my smirk.

Lip quivering, holding back tears.

This could never be,

Full of pain and heartache, I watched slowly as the fire left his eyes.

And all that was left was a bitter thought.

"He was never mine. He was always hers."

I really can relate because oneday I woke and realized that "He was never mine. He was always hers" Great job on conveying the ups, downs and disappointments in relationships.

Wow! I like this a lot. I do believe you've "admitted to" something most people can identify with. I like how you go from desire to bitterness- a realistic conclusion to this scenario.
