Black Nirvana is a spiritual and gothic lamentation, at times darkly comical while also pushing the boundaries of sinister subjects. As poignant as it is unsettling, its ambition is to voyage into the unknown and capture meaning where there was formerly despair. Fear winds its way through the text but there is also plenty of love, beauty and hope. The underworld exists in tandem with the search for happiness, as is the way in reality.
