Visions Go On

Visions Go On

A Poem by Mary E. Green

The visions replay in my head
Like a video tape put on repeat
I sit here alone and afraid
Of what could have been
That night the scenes are so clear
I remember the type of car, what happened,
and what was said
As the voice is so clear in my head
They dance around forever going on and
I ask myself why
I knew something might happen when I said
I'd go, but for whatever reason I do not know
My tears are hidden, unshed, unrelenting,
and unseen as the visions go on
I ignore the fact that something
should have been done
As I remember what went on that night my
trust was gone.

thanks for all the reviews! wow..this poem tells a story that is very sad. i like how you use similes instead of bluntly stating what happened, makes it more interesting.
