Crossroads

Crossroads

A Poem by Mary E. Green
"

This came to me as well at about 4 in the morn

"
Been going through your phone
You don't even know
I've seen a couple texts
A few calls that have been made
With this one you know
Seems innocent for now
But I can't help but wonder
Is there more
Have you erased a few messages
Or is it just what it is for now
Wondering why you're calling her
So early in the morning
And so late in the evening
Always when I'm not around
Always when I won't know
Yes I know my love has not been
Exactly what it used to be
But baby I've been trying
Now I'm left feeling like I can't trust you
Please tell me why we are at this crossroads
Both of us wondering why
Both of us wondering where to go from here

Text messages replace the old delted e-mails now, yet the refrain rings true today as it did then, it's just harder to bear and feels even less personal, since its all just a "text" so what's the harm.
