Esprit D'escalier

Esprit D'escalier

A Poem by Marissa Letterio
"

Say what you mean and mean what you say

"

Say what you mean and mean what you say

Isn’t that how they taught you the way?

Live life in honesty

End life in royalty

Never to have a price you must pay

Therein lies the punch line

Butt of every joke

Esprit D’escalier

The spirit your will invoke

Righteous fall victim

All integrity astray

Your tact is an act

Abandoned your way

Lost are the words

Seemingly hard to say

I agree with Greystone, she said it well. I really like this one.

This was a very beautiful poem; honestly, I was touched by both the flow and the message. You're a very talented poet.

Well done.

Well for starters, I love music and I love a good movie even more. When Im not caught up in some self initiated Photoshop project you can probably find me watching a campy horror film and.. more..
