The Fingerprint

The Fingerprint

A Poem by Queen O'Spades

the electricity, intensity breaks its way through,
through the sedation, the raw emotions that
have been rendered chemically static

I absorb even his most subtle touch
the length of his thumb lay along my hand
compassion and warmth, creating a sense memory
a fingerprint

I folded into it,
let it calm me,
balance me

The intimacy lingers still...
It doesn't quench my desire
it sets it ablaze
burning, tormenting, craving
hoping
hoping for more than a fingerprint

This is beautiful. It strikes me as a very realistic capture of the emotions and feelings that are so often just laden with fluffy metaphors. very personal, very intimate. Very original; specific to the situation it's describing, but relatable to everyone .. yep i liked it.
