I'll be waiting

I'll be waiting

A Poem by Dream Weaver

I’d tremble, at the thought of losing you,

devastated, don’t think I could ever pull

through.

I’d crumble, into a useless heap, lonely days

and nights without you, Toss and turn in my

sleep.

I’d call your name; I wouldn’t get a reply,

heart aching tears, as I break down and cry.

At this moment, I desire and thirst, I pray

to god, that I would always go first.

You are the breath that breathes life into me,

my purpose my soul my tranquility.

If I go first, I don’t want you to cry, because

I’ll be waiting, till the day that you die.

this poem touches me deeply because it reminds me of my maternal grandparents and how after my grandmother died of leukemia at the age of 54~ my grandfather literally willed himself to death within the following six months~ sometimes souls are so deeply connected that when one dies the other begins to die as well~

Wow a very powerful poem, an almost obsessed love. Beautiful job at expressing such a feeling.

I feel like I get that a lot these days. The whole 'i can't live without you' feeling. I don't really understand why. Nevertheless, this poem is beautiful. So is the song you've coupled with it. Did the song give you inspiration for this poem? Or was it more like the other way around?

OMG! This was beautiful. And the song was so fitting, along with the picture. My but I have tears in my eyes. Wow!

wonderful write, love the second to last stanza...or sentence. emotional, who dies first then the inevitable wait till that person dies. *shudders* i feel the pain

This is incredibly beautiful and deep. I think that if I lost my significant other I'd like just like that. I would want to be the first to go. Well done and nicely expressed.
