Impasse

Impasse

So here we are face to face, staring imprudently

into our perpetual enigma. Neither one giving up

an inch of clarity to the other. Arms folded eyes

so cold separated thoughts about to snap us back

to reality.

It’s truly over, all the good times have become a

microcosm of a life once shared through mutual

happiness. Now dissolved like a bitter pill tart and

chalky. Weren’t we perfect in an imperfect society?

Weren’t we logical in an illogical world or were we

just fooling ourselves that we would last forever?

The passion once stronger then any polymer

slowly eroding the molecules that has held it

together for all these years becomes a mere

reflection of a bond slipping away. I loved you as

you loved me, sadly you hate me as I hate you.

We now stand at an impasse.
