Who's to say

Who's to say

A Poem by Dream Weaver

We just stroll on down the road, as we distribute this

heavy load, of broken promises and broken dreams,

love isn’t always as it seems.

Who’s to say we belong, forever nomadic in a song,

how much hope, can we cope, as the world watches

closely under a microscope, who’s to say it should be

that way, a fabrication of love in decay.

In the darkness of the night, we dream of perfection in

black and white, empty hearts and empty souls, come

together in valleys and knolls.

So many miles have come between, everyday a inverted

monochrome scene, when did it start and where will it

end, were we really together just to condescend?

Isn’t love pretentious, when spied through the eyes of a

fool, every word sarcastic, enforcing the villainous gag rule.

Still we roll with desperate need, in search of passion at

blinding speed. Has it always been this way, a sort of

perverse judgment day?

Your wording is excellent. Lasting love is something we all long for. I think every day is a judgement day on how we live through them

wow! This one really touches my heart. Makes me sad and at the same time makes me wonder. I feel everyone questions love and through your eyes I feel you understand me and how I feel. It's sad but luring!! It's truth with denial and It's so, so beautiful!! I truly enjoyed this one mainly because I am a die-hard romantic wondering of it even all ever existed. you take my mind places.. great write!!

I have no words after reading this...its an amazing one....because it justify with all the emotions of sad love, that love which we expect to be perfect, which brings broken promises with broken hearts...you truly said...love isn't always as it seems to be!!!!
I just loved these two phrases...these words speaks a lot in itself...

"In the darkness of the night, we dream of perfection in
black and white, empty hearts and empty souls"

"were we really together just to condescend?"

Great work!!!!

Such a well versed description of what we go through when we just don't how to come to an end. How when you still love someone say I am sorry this just is not working for me? So hard for a romantic fool who believes in forever... You say it best when you say" Still we roll with desparate need, in search of passion at blinding speed. Has it always been this way, a sort of preverse judgement day?" What is one to do when you still believe in forever, still believe in one day?
I think I have a new favorite here. I know as adults many of us who have married and then divorced and wonder why it hurts when the day comes to sign the papers. How can you still love someone you thought for sure you hated?
Or maybe I just really mis-understood this one. But this is what it made me think of. The day I signed those papers...
