He couldn’t help but thank her:
Even though
He didn’t walk away the winner,
At least she let him leave there

With closure.

He knew that move;

She wanted to make him jealous -

Hold his nose to her happiness

As though he were a puppy, and

Her successes,

A cold puddle of piss.

You can’t build the foundation for happiness

On envy - if your happiness requisites

My jealousy

In order to exist,

It’s just elaborated spite,

An extension of vindictivity,

Of pride, of insecurity and

Complex cognitive-dissonance.

So she demonstrated to him

Her happiness.

But, how content can you really be

If you need someone to feel hurt

In order to be happy?

(P.S. the photo is titled "double standard.")
