Dear My Generation

Dear My Generation

A Poem by Opleras

Dear generation,

Dear generation, everyone is a winner.

Dear generation war.

Dear generation violence and bombs.

Dear generation why don’t you appreciate the freedom fought for by a brave soul now in the earth

Dear generation popularity

If you’re not beautiful you don’t make it and instead you’ll be pushed down

Dear generation bullying

I was bullied

Although, they were young and didn’t know how much it hurt, the emptiness that was felt.

Dear generation hero.

Where are your heroes?

Dear generation fame.

Drag race down some public road and smile for your mug shot, cause your fans, lawyers and money will bail you out over night.

Dear generation hate.

Publish hateful propaganda towards a religious peoples and call it FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Dear generation lessons,

You have lessons,

But are they positive?

Are they setting a good example?

How is your music generation?

I’ve got no problem being all about that bass, about that bass, no treble.

But, I’m not in love with the coco,

Nor do I find it “dope” to call women offensive names.

Dear generation conflict,

Some police officer killed a kid,

Another officer killed a kid as well,

Were they sorry?

It started a riot, a riot, a riot,

Then in turned into killings and store robberies.

Who is the better group?

Who are the innocent?

Who are the guilty?

How can we say that we are a country that helps others when we cant even help ourselves?

So much violence, so much bullying, so much alcohol, so much pollution, so many bombs, so many guns, so many guns.

Innocent children placed at the end of a gun.

Bullet, bullet, bullet.

Innocent children.

Innocent children.

Dear generation representative,

Who will represent you?

Is there any among us?

Is there hope?

Is there hope?

IS THERE HOPE?
There is.

There is.

Dear generation brave,

The ones who face diseases and guns to save those in suffering.

Dear generation give,

The ones who give their left overs from dinner to that an om the side of road who probably hasn’t had a meal in days.

Or the ones who give large sums of their money and time to a local soup kitchen or food pantry down the road.

Dear generation selfless,

28 billion dollars to an organization from a multibillionaire, twice of what he makes each year.

These are your heroes, generation.

Treasure them, look up to them.

These are the ones who should represent you.

This can be your generation.
