A Chapter by OrangeEyes

I traced my finger across the large tapestry that hung on our living room wall, a task I had done many times before, my eyes following across the painting, tracing through generations after generations until it reached the newest name on the list, Alexandra Glashow, me. Next to my name sat my brother's, Isaac Glashow, every time a new member was born there name would be stitched on the tapestry, documenting it all.

My finger moved up one to my father's name, Adrian Glashow, before moving it across one to the place where my mothers used to be printed, now all that was left was a black mark, Adrien had crossed it out shortly after her death, stating the pain was to much, I was to young to ever truly learn what her name was, only one at the time but every time I asked about her I would be greeted with silence.

With a long sigh I turned away from the painting, I had always had a fascination with history, spending long days and late nights reading over all the books my father owned, because of this Adrian believed that when I was awoken into my true self I would be like him, a Creator, but I could never do what Adrian does, but like most I have no decision over it, it's a strange thing believing that all your life you thought you knew what you were only to wake up one day and have all your beliefs taken away from you, I often wondered if that's what happened to Stelian on his Awakening was he always evil, even before he was chosen to be a Drainer . Isaac had it lucky, everybody already knew what he would become, he was full of so much light and love for nature nobody was shocked when he got placed into The Elementals.

The awakening was an event that happened on every Immortals eighteenth, it was the day that they were placed into one of the four Immortal types, Creators and Elementals were two of those types, the others were Shifter and Drainers. I knew a lot about the Creators and the Elementals from the knowledge I had learned from my father but I knew next to nothing about the last two just that it had been years since dad had last seen either and he was happy with it being that way.

I snapped out of my thoughts by the light tap I felt on my shoulder, I turned slowly, greeted by the small smile of Isaac staring down at me, "You know no matter how hard you look it's never going to change", I sighed, "I know I just wish I remembered something, even a name or better yet a face", he just continued to smile sadly, his eyes saying all of the words that could not come out of his mouth, I turned back to the tapestry, still feeling Isaac's presence behind me, staring one last time at the blacked out name, I walked away, turning away from my brother in the progress and heading out the glass doors to my left, leading towards the woods that I had spent so much of my childhood in.

I could hear Isaacs feet following me, listening to the loud thumps as they hit the ground running after me, but he never once talked, shouted for me to stop. I listened to my own footsteps on the ground, watching as the forest blurred past my view, I was quicker then Isaac but he had the Elements on his side, he would catch up eventually, and a part of me wanted him to. I took a right towards the lake that me and Isaac used to go to all the time as a kid when we came up to the cabin, the sharp action caused my body to slam roughly into the tree, causing a dent of where I had landed from the speed I was going, I lied down exhausted, super speed was great, as long as you didn't get distracted but unfortunately having a high attention span was not my strong suit.

I heard Isaac's feet catching up to me and felt his hand pulling me up quickly. I smiled at him, fixing the broken bone that had smashed against the tree. "You done running", He grinned,"Yeah I think so", he looked up ahead, the direction where I was going to run in. Isaac looked confused for a second before he worked out where I was heading, "The old lake huh?", I nodded absentmindedly. "You know that's were she.....", I cut him off, "died, I know, all though no one will tell me how", "We will one day Alex, you just got to be patient dad's still grieving, we only love once you know that", I nodded, knowing the subject was done for the day, I shook my head clearing myself from those thoughts, "Race you to the lake", he smiled happy the previous conversation was over, "you're on".

I sped off, running away from Isaac, I heard his protests shouting from behind me, I just laughed. All though the moment didn't last long in front of me a tree snapped, tumbling from the ground, I was running to fast and I tripped over the large tree, Isaac had forced the ground below it to tear up causing it to crash before me. I heard his loud laugh as he ran past me, I smiled getting off the ground and chasing after him.

In the end Isaac had won the race, every time I got ahead he would just use his abilities to slow me down, creating massive gale force winds, making sink holes in the ground I was running on, but once I got there I forgot all about him and his cheating ways focusing on the scenery that I had not seen for so long.

I smiled for a second before the world went black, I blinked confused, a image of a man and a woman popped into my head, I felt like I knew them but I had never seen either of them before in my life. They were reaching out to me, dragging my body towards them, I couldn't move, I crumpled to the ground, all I could hear was Isaac shouting my name.
