Hatred

Hatred

A Poem by Orpheus

I’ve grown

These last few years

In more ways than one

I’m taller

Strong

Smarter too

But the most significant growth

Was the most surprising

It was my hatred that has grown the largest

My hatred that has grown the strongest

And it is my hatred that has grown the most intelligent

For it knows exactly what to hate

And its reasons why

My hatred knows to hate me the most

For my short-comings

My inability to exceed my limits

It knows to hate the world

And this mold that I’ve let myself be pushed in to,

That could never truly be who I am.

It has come to hate the world itself

For giving me a death I cannot stop

All due to the parents I was given.

It hates the knowledge that I will die alone

No matter how hard I try.

Indeed, my hatred has grown

And the worst part is

I agree.
