Unknown Zephyr

Unknown Zephyr

A Poem by Joshua Ramirez
"

A refreshing, robust breeze turns weak, it's impact only brushing gently upon me - written July 2020, part of "The Covid Series".

"

Crisp at the start,

Sharp as an icicle,

Implementing new techniques,

To try and stay alive.

The breeze came to lift me off the ground,

A new freedom to numb the incoming changes,

The cool air never felt better,

I smiled.

That same smile grew less and less,

That same breeze grew less and less,

That same icy fortitude shrunk, more and more,

My will to stay afloat shrunk, more and more.

The air grew warm,

My will soft,

The goals melted,

The breeze no more.
