Small fortune and small fear.

Phone call from J.

Unexpected.

Out of the blue.

She's driving.

Sounds busy.

Says she's

Coming up north

For a bit.

For work,

Or something.

But I'm busy.

Scheduling mix ups.

Probably could have

Seen her anyway.

Needed more notice.

Embarrassment.

Disappointment.

"Maybe this weekend?"

She asks me.

And so--

I may or may not

Have a date

This weekend, Miss

And I'm suddenly

Really nervous.
