April 1st

April 1st

A Poem by mysticgmekeepr

Today burst from the East,
Shinning on diamonds,
Glistening in the brightness
Of white flurries...there
In place of white narcissus,
White oleander, or hyacinth...
Bare branches with a hint of bud:
A pubescent landscape.
That rodent, Phil that hails from Pennsylvania,
He lied you know
And April disguises itself
As March ,
In a temporary illusion.
My tulips touch the truth
They reach a little higher everyday,
They don't listen to the diamonds
Whispering
Or are they fooled by the constant chill.

yes, yes, we're all waiting, expectant, yearning...my starter plants in the basement have been looking at the calendar for days, and making little complaining waves of leaves as i sprinkle their daily dole...but yesterday the snow disappeared and today the trend 'seems' irrevocable...yes, yes, and long distance 'howdy neighbor' to you, my dear

Thank you Marie. It's been a long, cold winter. I'm ready for bud and bloom. Supposed to be 50 today but still 20 at night.

Beautiful..."brightness of white flurries..." and true. April here has suddenly turned into the beginning of March.
