Dance addict

Dance addict

A Poem by Silvanus Silvertung

A song: rough audio recording here

You told me you wanted your Pan fix
Man as drug, addiction dragging on
But I just wanted to dance and fix
The things I saw so very wrong

Double drugs should never mix
Take some time between your fix
I wanted to dance and you wanted me
And between them I could barely breath
And between the two I couldn’t breath

Impatient pressures impress the beat
You're having fun, I’m trying to hear
Impatient to be tired and beat
Listen where we start to tear

Double drugs should never mix
Take some time between your fix
I wanted to dance and you wanted me
And between them I could barely breath
And between the two I couldn’t breath

I think you’re deaf but you just can’t hear
My whispered words, a hand all curled
You’re drinking in all you can bear
I bare myself to you my girl

Double drugs should never mix
Take some time between your fix
I wanted to dance and you wanted me
And between them I could barely breath
And between the two I couldn’t breath

We sit in darkness hand in hand
Your world torn, you’re coming down
The high falls down like grains of sand
You’re desperately all going down.

Double drugs should never mix
Take some time between your fix
I wanted to dance and you wanted me
And between them I could barely breath
And between the two I couldn’t breath

I’m a dance addict direct to the vein
My blood impulse, a pulsing song
I wanted to dance to stop the pain
You wanted to fix what’s very wrong

Double drugs should never mix
Take some time between your fix
I wanted to dance and you wanted me
And between them I could barely breath
And between the two I couldn’t breath.
