No one really knows

No one really knows

A Poem by Maddy

Behind this smile,

I've hidden a lie

      Behind the mask,

There is nothing left

The jokes aren't jokes,

       No, not anymore

My life is left nothing

But a closed door

      I joke about depression

A joke about demise

Please don't leave me smiling here

When I really want to cry

My hopes and dreams they disapper,

Like the voices of the past

They were all so right,

       Saying happiness will never last

Maybe someone who reads this,

Will finally and truly see

The person I pretend to be

Will never ever be me

You don't understand me,

       It's clear you never did

The jokes aren't jokes,

No, not anymore
