Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender

A Poem by Eve
"

Bye Turtle, I love you!

"

Lonesome George Is no longer
lonely...he's free.
He answers the call of the island,
one love, one life.
Freed from his native stronghold
a vestige that love does not
always sway nor conquer
he steps into the unknown,
Last of his kind, sweet surrender
but no longer alone.

I mourn his passing and

I hope it's love that he's feeling now.

I saw this on a news feed, but you've given his passing a more deeply moving, emotionally stirring voice... How the movement of time takes us further down the stream... and how it takes away the precious music of the ages... Beautifully bittersweet....

Very well written. I have always had a special place in my heart for turtles. It is too bad this turtle is extinct. Very informative and wonderful.

a sad yet beautiful symbol for the disappearing species.

not sure i have understood the Bob Marley references, but I'd like to think you are saying he was the last of his subspecies too!

wonderful anyway!
