Red

Red

A Poem by Parsa
"

The struggle of forgetting the love of your life

"
I brush
One layer of memory
Over another.
In an attempt to remove
The deepest stroke of red
You put in the canvas of my heart.
You put one stroke
And left
Now that's the color of my soul.
No amount of paint
Covers the red that you left
Like vermilion on the newly wed bride.
I peel out my skin
I peel out my flesh
Blood unites with Red
Red remains just there
Just the way
Forgetting you is just rare.

Hello Parsa. You certainly picked the right colour as red is indeed a hard colour to get rid of just like heartbreak. I enjoyed the write.
