The Notorious Harlot

The Notorious Harlot

A Poem by Parsa
"

Well it's about looking for bits of old love in new places just for the sake of experiencing that same beautiful feeling.

"
Cherrylove,
the notorious harlot
Looking for her lover
In the streets of Newcastle.
One comes to her
Tries to hold her hands gently
All she feels is
unwelcome scratches
From some stray dog.
One comes to her
Tries to kiss her cheek gently
All she feels is
unwanted trespassing
In the temple of her sanity.
Another one comes to her
Tries to embrace her gently
All she feels is
Unhealed wounds
Bleeding from all the scars.
But this one
He calls her name
She smiles.
He touches her chin
She leans forward.
He puts head on her chest
Her heart beats ,
She cherishes memories
Of fearless free falls
Of steady dry leaves
Hugging the winter ground.
She smiles
Because he sounds like her lover
Like drizzling rain rhyming
With anklets on her feet.
She leans forward
Because he makes her remember
The nights of fireworks
Luxuriated in their balcony of hearts.
She lets him sit beside her
Because his petty little sham
Recreates magic lost.
Cherrylove,
She's a harlot now
In search of her dead lover
In every new seeker.
She's selling herself
Since dead man can't buy
Love,joy or sorrow.
She's undressing herself
Since dead man can't dress her
With affection and care.
She's luring by herself
Since dead man can't give honey
She's the seductress herself
But
Her heart doesn't give in
Her soul doesn't smell flowers
Her mind doesn't find peace.
Cherrylove,
Buried her love
On the winter of December.
Christmas bell rang
Her lover got a new lover.
Cherry love,
The notorious harlot
Keeps on looking for her lover
In the streets of Newcastle.
Her anklets now bruises her skin
With every step she takes.
She paints the streets of Newcastle
Each night
Blood red
With bleeding blisters.
