Homecoming

Homecoming

A Poem by Parsa
"

Longing to reunite with a long lost loved one

"
I prayed for wings
So that I land on our home.
But I forgot
I don't have the right to the keys.
It's not like I don't fly
I do fly
But I don't feel
Freedom or
Fire or
Felicity.
But I relentlessly fly
I fly close to our home
And sometimes I feel
I might have imposter syndrome.
Or why would I lurk over our home
Like vultures screeching over deads.
Pointlessly roaming in circles
And the center is our home.
Or why would a bird so free cage itself?
Maybe I trick myself
But I'm nothing but a prisoner
Prisoned in the dreams of my homecoming.
Do you see my intentions ?
I just want to come back home,
Your home,
You.

A very nice read. Longing for someone can be brutal. You painted a nice picture with your poem. Best wishes.
