my father my knight, my demon in the night

my father my knight, my demon in the night

A Poem by PasDeChat

My father oh why did you do me this way

I dont love you

do not love me

not "that way"

never nor today

I was only a child, only 12

Dont touch me my knight

my only path home

I lay in the dark

for the first time

I was alone

Mom in the hospital

Me in my bed

You are a son of a b***h

you deserve to burn

for the things that you tried with me instead

I forgave you for your sins long ago

I buried my trouble along with your being

and the past is done

But why oh why did my knight

and my first love treat me so?

wow this is pure raw emotion and heartbreak. so sad but beautifully written. our father's are the first men in our lives, they teach us how much we are worth in those first few years, they are supposed to be our protectors, but sometimes turn into our enemies. my father preferred verbal & physical abuse so in many ways, i can relate. thank you for being so open and sharing this poem. it speaks of your bravery and your strength. so many have experienced this yet remain silent.
