no more light

no more light

A Poem by PasDeChat

Fatigue has set in
Numbness in my soul
Wall pressing in
Can I hold on?

I want to give up
Too stubborn, too proud
Eyes searing, peering down
Screaming whimpers are so loud

A beacon of light breaks through
Brilliance spills all around
When will the torment end?
Feet chained to the ground

Struggling takes the final toll
Knees buckle, eyes shut tight
Embraced in my arms, one last sigh
Engulfed in darkness then no more light
