Space

Space

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Space

You stopped me being creative,

got in the way,

took up too much time.

You occupied my thoughts

and swamped them with your beauty.

I was paralysed and transfixed,

stuck in time,

trapped in your moist web.

Wedged between succulent thighs

and wanting to be so deep

I’d burst you.

No time for poetry or prose

just you and longing.

Just sharing your space.

Just breathing your air

and wanting you

again and again and again.

Now you have gone

I have so much room

I suffocate.
