Take My Place

Take My Place

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Take My Place

You plundered Lindisfarne,

the exploits of your drakkon

retold in runic inscription.

Your prolific Skaldic words

written with harps and silk,

sharp as your axe,

soft as your skin,

deep as your Nordic soul.

They penetrate my thoughts,

 and emotion,

like your seax

plunging steely through my heart.

Are you a barbarian

or a noble savage?

Yield your oar

tired warrior;

take my place upon the thwart.

Noble savage with a bit of barbarian in the mix I think. ^_^
Not that women did more than rule the home.

Very very good, I like the imagery and everything about it!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
