Respect

Respect

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Respect

You dragged me down,

deep into your underworld,

hoping I would drown

in your cesspool

of wanton deceit.

And like a fool

I gave you two years of my life,

until I burst to the surface

free to suck in the sweet air

and to breathe again,

respect.

I have been in a relationship like this, the demeaning of your self worth but you can't see that while you are so deep in it. Then you realize the respect was never there. That is the damage that is so hard to get over, the baggage you take to the next relationship. I wish you healing after this. Poetry is healing, keep writing and keep healing.

Thanks Heather. I am strong yet soft, tough yet malable. I and a survivor and an explorer so I will.
I love the empowerment.. the seeing it for what it was and not stay and wallowing in it.. to "suck in the sweet air and breathe again...respect".. is what it's all about..xo

Well that is a start and perhaps a mutual bond to be exploited in honour of creation?

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
