You Left Me to Drown

You Left Me to Drown

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

You left me to drown

You brought me hope

when I had none

and I fell completely.

I took you in my heart

and held you oh so dearly.

I hold you there now

but your love for another

was too great.

You pushed me away

isolated and confused

you left me to drown.
