Pickled

Pickled

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Pickled

When she wasn’t here

the page was empty;

the gap was wide,

the space unfilled.

I found my thoughts drift,

asking how she was,

was she alright?

It never felt the same,

my read requests all done!

So strange,

how much we need her,

Happy Birthday Frieda!

So sweet! I adore Frieda, she makes me laugh. She's the joy of the café, the sun shines when she's here. :)

Happy Birthday Frieda!! x

I'm pickled, I meant tickled. ;-)
This is a lovely write for Frieda - It is strange how much we need her, she is what keeps this cafe going, I think. To me anyway, haha.

Cheeky chops!
It would be an understatement to say I know this feeling, but happy to see we are able to send birthday wishes to her once again. One question John, the date at the bottom...sixth sense?
