The Longing and the Pain

The Longing and the Pain

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Only one person in your life will honestly make you feel true love.

"

The Longing and the Pain

I long to be reunited with her being

for she was indeed, without doubt,

the love of my life.

My sad Norwegian.

My beautiful, intelligent indulgence.

My companion and perfect lover.

I soaked my soul in all of her,

absorbed her through my skin

until she was in every molecule,

in every single cell of me.

I lived for each moment

I spent with her.

Her smile captured my heart,

her lips made me weaker than

I have ever been in my whole life,

unable to resist.

Her voice was as a summer breeze,

cool and calming,

as it softly caressed my desire.

When our bodies touched

I felt heaven call to me

and urge me to her bidding.

And when our climax reached

subsidence I heard the whisper

of angels and felt the joy

of true giving,

and I was complete.

Now I am a dying man,

withering from the pain

of regret and loss.

Now I am a mere shadow

destined to forever feel the sadness

of my one true love denied.

brutal how we have nothing to offer after losing our complete investment in love... it doesn't matter how long we go, the haunts of that one true love denied are forever... heavy, John

Heavy but true FT. Thank you.
This really touches my heart. To feel that kind of love only to lose it can be devastating. To fill that space is almost impossible but most of us would not have changed it for the world. Your poem expresses this so beautifully.

John, this is truly a heart felt piece you have written. With tat said it is a very good poem and must are when they come from the heart. You expressed you emotions with very considerate word selection. It flowed well from beginning to end. I certainly hope each day is better with you.

No worries as I have the same problem when using mine on WC!
Monumentally sad....and so very moving. To have a love like that ripped away from you is tragic. Is it true we only have one true love? I am not sure of that. We live in a development of people who are over 55 and many of them are married for the second time either because of divorce or death. They are very happy and say the love they feel for this partner is not the same as it was, but it is in some ways better. Never lose hope. Lydi**

This sounds like the love that we all want to have. The one that speaks directly to our soul, and feeds us fervently. I do wish you reunite with her John.
