Knocking on the door looking for answers!

What will happen to books and art

and culture,

when the day of reckoning comes?

Will we disappear into mythology

as did Greek and Roman Gods?

Will we become the new lost tribes

of Africa and the Amazon,

left wandering eternal rain forests

like ants trying to rebuild

their nest after tropical floods?

What about access to Apple and Amazon,

Wikipedia and dating sites?

Will he confiscate our mobile phones,

like an over protective parent?

Will we still have Netflix

and BT Sport and BBC iPlayer

on our tablets?

Will God close down the internet

or give us a broadband upgrade?

What about the promise of space travel;

will he maroon us at home in Heaven's

herbaceous gardens and cloudy fields,

or help us to explore the Final Frontier?

Will he even let Scotland keep its independence?

Well you know what?

Until I get some answers,

I for one, am not

voting for the geezer!

Thank you so much FCB. I am of the Darwinian school and I guess this is as you say meant to beg questions about our over reliance on technology (I have to confess that having now bought myself a decent smart phone it is somewhat infections as it can offer so much). I also wanted the reader to question beliefs and the concept of Heaven and God given we have come so far. Many thanks.

Faith is a rock for some. But faith is not always about a god. Believe me I have seen suffering and I have seen some sustained by faith in themselves, their football team, their medication etc

Everyone seems to be dependent on technology these days. I think i better start engraving my favorite poems on stones :) But who knows heaven might actually be a free wifi zone. :) I enjoyed reading this.

For some silly reason I was thinking about all the advances humankind had made, the internet and computers and mobile phones seem so awesome and yet heaven is portrayed as quite a backwater akin to the days of Greek Gods.

Once we are not bound by time, gravity etc. we can invent much more, explore, write poetry... Oh so much more than you and I cannot even begin to fathom. :) - that's what I think :)

Certainly thought provoking poetry.....what would happen if all our poetry vanished and future generations never knew of its existence? Well, I suppose we will never know, will we? but what a thought you have here...what if everything was gone...and all of the poets and poetry we are accumulating now just became a myth....something only some people believe actually existed.
