Tan

Tan

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Simple things.

"

Tan

Mahogany skin,

mine to endure

as life sets in sunrises

of hate and demise.

As life causes fractures

of trust.

And all I have to cling

to is the flotsam

that will preserve

my soul.

And there I find

the simplicity

of the sun

my joy.

Scratch the outer surface and all we are lies just beneath.

Simply written, yet with a depth of meaning contained. T

thank you :D
Wow...I loved this one.The way to live life ahead...The urge to allow all the hate and demise to get out thrugh that open door and set somewhere eternally and yet sticking to the flotsam and the scrape for the sake of soul.Simplicity rocks:)Teaches me how even the simplest of things can bring you immense joy

I agree FCB we need to take what joy we can from the simple things life offers. Many thanks.
there is much to like in simplicity of life...

love this..."sunrises" should be just plural...is that what you meant?

and what a unique idea...to cling to the flotsam....

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
